What is SomeBuddy’s background?

SomeBuddy is a Finnish company (founded in 2017) specialising in online safety themes. At the time, it was clear that people were not getting the help they needed with their online safety problems, which was the catalyst for founding SomeBuddy. SomeBuddy expanded into the UK in 2026.

I’m a student and I can't log in to SomeBuddy with the activation code – what should I do?

Please kindly follow the instructions below:

Go to somebuddy.help*.*
Start writing the name of your school and choose the school from the list.
Please enter your phone number or email address in the text box.
You will receive a one-time password through SMS or email. Enter it in the new text box.
When you log in for the first time, you will be asked for the activation code. You will receive the activation code from your school. Enter the activation code in the field.
The service is now ready to use! From now on, you will be able to login using your phone number or email and one-time passwords, no activation code is needed anymore.

I am a teacher (or a member of the school staff) and I can’t log in to SomeBuddy - what should I do?

Go to somebuddy.help
Select: “Teacher or staff? Sign in here”
Login with your work-provided Microsoft account
Provide your school’s activation code to the system (only needed when logging in for the first time). You will receive a school-specific activation code from your school.

What is SomeBuddy?

SomeBuddy is a comprehensive digital safeguarding solution for schools. SomeBuddy offers an Online Safety Curriculum, designed to effectively enhance children’s online safety. Through engaging lessons, children learn how to navigate the digital world safely.

Beyond classroom lessons, SomeBuddy gives stronger tools to proactively prevent and quickly intervene in difficult online situations before they escalate. SomeBuddy provides a safe, private space for children to share their worries. The reported incident is handled by the school’s DSLs for further action. SomeBuddy also meets the highest standards set by Ofsted for online safety and pupil wellbeing.
